Countries within the EU have made various degrees of progress in the area of DEI. Certain legislation in some countries has contributed to growing success. Specifically, a 2022 EU Directive on the gender balance of corporate boards has gone a long way to change the percentage of women serving on those boards. Still, less than 1 in 10 of the largest listed companies in the EU-27 have a woman chair or CEO. How quickly can we expect to see further progress and what types of programs have been most effective?
