Kirk Watkins is the President and Founder of FairShare Insurance Company. He holds insurance licenses in all 50 states and previously maintained Series 7, 66, and 63 securities licenses. He is the recipient of two U.S. patents in financial services and employee benefits administration. Under his leadership, FairShare developed a first-of-its-kind supplemental insurance program that lowers policyholder premiums, expands coverage, and enables sponsoring organizations to earn 100% of underwriting profit.

Kirk has authored numerous articles on traditional and alternative risk platforms, including pure and group captives, third-party business, employee benefits, home and product warranties, cell phone insurance, identity theft protection, pet insurance, and vendor/customer affinity programs. His insights have been featured in the New York Times, Captive International, Captive Review, Employee Benefit News, Human Resource Executive, and Captive Industry Reports. He is also a frequent conference speaker and has presented at leading captive insurance events such as VCIA, HCIC, SCCIA, NCCIA, WRCIA, SIIA, and the World Captive Forum.

Kirk has received multiple industry honors, including Captive International’s 2024 recognitions for “Reinsurance Firm” and “Reinsurance Individual,” the 2023 Business Insurance Innovation Award, and the 2020 Captive Review Award for Captive Innovation. He was also a finalist for Business Insurance’s 2020 Insurance Consulting Team of the Year, named to Captive Review’s “Ones to Watch” in 2019, and recognized as a “Highly Commended Employee Benefits Consultant” at the 2017 U.S. Captive Review Awards.
