Mike Douglas is the Director of Business Development for Aon Captive & Insurance Management, specializing in the formation of captive insurance companies, group captives, captive reinsurance, and captive consulting.
Since joining Aon in 1999, Mike has focused on alternative risk strategies and risk-financing design, undertaking analyses of existing insurance arrangements and advising on retentions and program structures for new and existing captives.
Mike began his career in 1980 in property and casualty reinsurance in London for Unione Italiana (now Swiss Re), a tenure that spanned eleven years. From 1991–1995, he served at Ernst & Young in Bermuda, performing forensic reinsurance audits and dispute resolution. Subsequently, from 1995–1999, he held a number of positions at Marsh in Bermuda, specializing in captive management, reinsurance brokerage, distressed risk resolution and reinsurance recoveries.
Mike is a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute (FCII), a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), and an Associate of the Insurance Institute of America with concentrations in:

He also holds the Associate in Captives designation (AIC) from the International Center for Captive Insurance Education.
