Current Responsibilities
Julie is the Americas Captive Consulting Leader for the US, Canada and LatAM. She leads a team of technical advisory colleagues who assist clients in the U.S. and globally with the feasibility and organization of single parent captives, risk retention groups, and protected cell captives. Julie participates in captive strategic reviews for clients that already have captives and is frequently involved with reviewing merger and acquisition transactions where there are one or more captive subsidiaries and advises on the captive strategy. She handles a wide range of consulting services surrounding various captive issues and concerns, such as capitalization levels, new lines of coverage, captive investment opportunities, and financial savings. Julie speaks at various industry seminars and conferences, as well as conducts training classes within Marsh.
She also serves as the captive senior relationship officer on several large accounts. In this role, she collaborates with captive clients on their strategic risk issues, strengthens the relationship between the client and the service team, and ensures client expectations are being met.
Experience
Julie joined Marsh in 2003 and has worked in various roles. She started in the Casualty Advisory and Alternative Risk practices for various clients. She primarily focused on financial analysis and consulting in the areas of reserve analysis, loss forecasting, loss stratifications, cash flow analysis, allocation systems, and retention analysis. Starting in 2007, she focused primarily on captives. In 2012, Julie was the SouthCentral Zone Captive Leader and then later the Central Zone Captive Leader providing consulting services in the captive and alternative risk areas.
She is currently on the board and serves at Vice President for the Texas Captive Insurance Association and has worked closely with the regulators and association members since 2014. She also was the conference committee chair in 2016, 2018, 2019, and 2021.
