Rick currently serves as Senior Vice President in Guy Carpenter’s Regional Mutual Company and Captive Segments. He is responsible for providing risk transfer, capital management and risk management solutions for regional mutual companies and captive insurers.
He also serves as the Captive Segment Sales Leader. In this role he is accountable for leading business development and specializes in partnering captive managers with capital providers. He actively identifies both prospective and retrospective reinsurance solutions to help risk managers transfer and finance risk more efficiently.
Rick is a frequent speaker on reinsurance topics, including reinsurance market updates, alternative risk financing strategies and the impact of emerging risks on the insurance sector, to both clients and industry trade groups. In fact, he has authored a number of blogs and has been featured in editorials in Captive Review, Captive International and Cayman focus. In 2023 he was named to Captive International’s Forty Under 40.
Prior to Guy Carpenter, Rick served as Vice President and Treaty Account Executive in Gen Re’s Mutual Practice. His career began as a Global Property Facultative Underwriter in Philadelphia, PA.
Rick received a B.A. from the College of William of Mary and is a member of the Officer Council for the Boehly Center for Excellence in Finance at the Raymond A. Mason School of Business. He holds an Associate in Reinsurance and Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriter designations.
