Marco Hensel serves as Chief Underwriting Officer at HDI Global Insurance Company, leading underwriting strategy and execution across property, liability, marine, engineering, and specialty lines for the U.S. organization. Based in Chicago, Marco is responsible for developing underwriting frameworks, risk selection, and portfolio management, as well as driving modernization initiatives in pricing and claims processes.

With over two decades of experience in insurance and risk management, Marco has played a pivotal role in advancing captive fronting and reinsurance solutions for complex risks. He partners closely with brokers and clients to deliver innovative, scalable structures tailored to evolving market needs.
