Michael Domanski is a partner at Honigman LLP and the leader of its Insurance Tax Practice Group. With more than 25 years of international and domestic captive insurance experience, he represents individuals, tax-exempt organizations and private/public companies involved in U.S. inbound and outbound transactions and multi-state arrangements. He advises his clients on captive domiciles, segregated portfolios/cells, series LLCs, mutual insurers/reciprocals and stock captives, ownership structures, premium tax deductibility, application of federal excise tax/state procurement tax, US withholding tax and unrelated business income tax, tax-efficient financing and repatriation of profits, preparation of tax forms and filings and responding to information requests and examinations involving federal and state authorities.
