Laura Deutscher is an experienced corporate board member and former global C-suite executive with four decades of leadership experience across Financial Services, Insurance, and Professional Services. Recognized as a Qualified Financial Expert, she has an exceptional track record in driving large-scale business transformations, managing mergers and acquisitions, advancing enterprise risk management, and implementing strategic initiatives.

As an independent board member, Laura has provided valuable strategic oversight on key committees, including Audit (Chair), Risk (Chair), Human Capital and Compensation, Nomination and Remuneration, and CEO Search. She currently serves on the boards of Jewelers Mutual Insurance Company and People Corporation, and previously served on the boards of Germania Insurance Company, MSIG USA, and MS Transverse, units of Japanese insurer Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance. Her leadership excellence has been recognized with honors such as Business Insurance’s 2013 Women to Watch, Accord’s 2023 Women’s Insurance Advancement Award, Reuters’ 2024 Trailblazing Women in Insurance, and 50/50 Women on Boards’ 2025 Women to Watch for Public Board Service.

Laura’s industry expertise includes serving as Global CFO for Gallagher Bassett, a subsidiary of Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. (NYSE: AJG), where she delivered transformative financial and operational results. She also held multiple senior leadership roles at CNA Financial Corporation (NYSE: CNA), driving innovation, operational excellence, and strategic growth.

Laura began her career at PricewaterhouseCoopers, specializing in mergers & acquisitions, financing transactions, and business reorganizations. She holds an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and a BS in Accounting from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. Laura is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) and Extraordinary Women on Boards (EWOB), and is a founding member of the Women in Insurance Collective (WIIC), where she also leads the Ignite (DEIB) Committee.
