Tricia Kagerer
Job Title
EVP Risk Management
Jordan Foster Construction
Speaker Bio
As the EVP of Risk Management for Jordan Foster Construction, Tricia rose through the executive ranks of the historically male-dominated construction industry to find herself in a lonely place as one of the only women in the room. Now, her mission is to change that dynamic by equipping organizations and individuals to create healthier work environments that celebrate intersectional diversity, reduce risk, and empower future generations. Tricia created an authentic life and career in her own unique way, all while raising a family. Over the years, more women have joined non-traditional professions, yet in many industries it is still uncommon to see women in leadership roles. Tricia considers herself one of the lucky ones to have navigated a career into the C-suite. Her goal is to share her journey with others so she can open the door for the next generation of women, spark a conversation, and pass on key lessons that will ultimately make an impact and a difference.

Tricia leads the risk management, safety, and leadership teams in her current role as the EVP of Risk Management for Jordan Foster Construction, a large construction firm focused on civil, multifamily, and general contracting across Texas.

With more than 20 years of experience in Construction Risk Management and Safety with contractors across the U.S., Tricia is an expert in risk and safety management, leadership, culture, and performance excellence, and in 2020, she earned the IRMI Bill McIntyre Leadership Award, and was named to the Board of Directors for the Board of Certified Safety Professionals.

Dedicated to lifelong learning, Tricia became a 5 Voices™ Certified Leadership Coach through GiANT Worldwide, and her dynamic consulting practice has helped Tricia expand her mission of empowering others to pursue authenticity, promote diversity, and find a path to self-defined success.

Tricia holds a Master’s Degree in Education and Human Development, with a focus on Conflict Resolution, from Southern Methodist University in Dallas. She earned her B.S. in Business Administration and a B.A. in Communication from Regis University in Denver.

Earning numerous awards and accolades throughout her career, Tricia has been named the DFW Associated General Contractors’ Safety Director of the Year and the American Society of Safety Engineers’ Safety Professional of the Year, and she has also been ranked among Dallas Business Journal’s Women to Watch and Business Insurance Magazine’s Top 25 Women to Watch.

In addition to authoring books including The B Words and Wise Irish Women, Tricia frequently writes about various risk, safety, and leadership topics, and she is a regular contributor for the International Risk Management Institute.
