Elmer Rivera is the Managing Sales Director of Special Risk Underwriting Partners LLC responsible for the production, growth, and management of new and existing agency client relationships. At Risk Placement Services, Inc. Long Island he was New York Area President and Long Island Branch Manager. Prior to that he built the Long Island office of Jimcor Agencies where he served 13 years as its Branch Manager.
Throughout his 35-year career he has worked in the wholesale, retail, and carrier side of the business and has held various Underwriting , Management and Executive positions. His primary focus has been in Surplus Lines, handling specialty risk in the construction, real estate, and life sciences industries.
Mr. Rivera is the creator and a Founding Board of Director of the Latin Agents & Brokers Association, (L.A.B.A.), where he currently serves as Chairman and Treasurer. He has been a driving force in uniting Hispanic/Latin Agents and Brokers, as well as Agents and Brokers looking to sell insurance to the growing community of Hispanic/Latin insurance consumers. In addition, to L.A.B.A., he is active in various insurance associations and serves on the board of the Council of Insurance Brokers of Greater NY, (CIBGNY).
